I'm trying to open up some old excel/word/powerpoint documents on an old laptop borrowed from my school that I had last turned on 3 years ago, and so I noticed recently that the laptop has Microsoft Office 2016 installed but the product license key has expired, and the options given are for me to enter a product license key or log into my microsoft account.
The old computer had a valid license for Office 2016 Home and Business. In the past, I used the following script to pull the last five digits of the product key so I knew which one to download off of Office.Com. cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\OSPP.VBS" /dstatus. Sign in after entering key will be a sign in to a Microsoft account still to complete the activation and register the post-install key to that account. Only AFTER that, you can sign into Ms services that are associated to the 365 user. Then we buy a separate office 2019 pro plus license. 20 euro lifetime license.
