Wait you need to have horses in your inventory if you wanna upgrade infantry to cavalry? Thats the dumbest sh1t ever, why would they do that? Its just more micromanaging for literally no reason. You dont need to have the better weapons and armor in your inventory either so why horses. Makes no sense. Hopefully mod will fix it.
Joy. Craft your most expensive weapon you can (so either 2-hand sword, 2-hand polearm, or javeline) using the highest tier parts. XP and part unlocks seem to be mostly based on the value of the item you're crafting. I'm perfectly ok with the idea of it. I just wish the companion system were a bit more robust to support the idea. Hopefully it'll come with time. First thing I did was make a new save after it happened. But I kept going. And I will probably keep going rather than reloading. If I don't get a new scout, oh well.
